Pashupati temple is near Tribhuvan international airport. It’s a holy place of Hinduism and an attractive tourism spot. This temple is listed UNESCO World Heritage Sites list. It is one of the great temples of Hindus. Only Hindus and Buddhists are allowed to enter the temple as it is very important for Hindus. The Pashupatinath Temple is a famous and great Hindu temple. It is located on the banks of the Bagmati River which is approximately 5 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu district in the eastern part of Kathmandu Valley, the capital of Nepal. It is the temple of Lord Shiva and one of the major festivals of the Temple is Maha Shivaratri on this day over million devotees visit here. Pashupatinath Temple is one of the oldest Hindu temples among temples inside Kathmandu.
According to Nepal Mahatmaya and Himvatkhanda, the deity here gained great fame there as Pashupati, the Lord of all Pashus, which are living as well as non-living beings. Pashupatinath was made in 400 B.C. some parts of the temple are in pagoda style which is considered as the symbol of Lord Shiva. The temple was built new in the 5th century by Lichchavi King Prachanda Dev. Over time, many more temples have been built around this two-storied temple. These include the Vaishnava temple complex with a Rama temple from the 14th century and the Guhyesweri built in an 11th-century manuscript
